do i need to go for a diesel car

l have a 2003 VW golf tdi and l get 52 mpg and l would not trade it for anything

if you want good gas milage and an engine that will last longer than yes you should. But remember diesels are louder than gasoline cars. My wifes jetta is a diesel and she gets 50mpg on the highway.

Yeah, they can be converted to veggie oil to run on. Regular gas cars ar more difficult.

On the outset l would like to tell u that It all depends on the distance u cover in a day, the country u live in(tax,price of fuel,weather, etc.), & what is ur budget for fuel.

1. Say if u travel above 40Kms a day then l think its worth going for a diesel car.
2. If the petrol prices r twice that of the diesel price then its worth going for a diesel car.
3. Lastly the comfort level u r looking at. If u r annoyed by the engine sound & vibration u cant go for a Diesel car. (Except to some High end cars)

the break even point for a diesel car in england is 20000 miles a year BUT --- diesels are good to drive and you get more for them secondhand and they are more reliable than petrol engined cars. If you drive to the red line all the time go with petrol, if you like to change up early and make the engine pull - go for diesel
