It is probably burning the oil, is there black smoke??? If it is buring the oil it means the piston rings have worn out and l am sorry to tell you but your engine has had its day and you need a new car

Get a tune-up and switch to a synthetic blend of oil or include a engine additive to increase performance and seal leaks. Good luck, get a Honda or Nissan

Run it to get it warm, take off the oil filler cap and check for smoke coming out, if so your piston rings are letting exhaust fumes into the sump, or in other words on your way through 20 ponds try and find a scrap yard
