PS: Definitely turbo diesel, although l can not find what the ''J'' stands for; it is listed as a ''common rail turbo diesel'' engine in the Fiat Ducato.

JTD is the name Fiat gives to its diesel engines, and actually they're very good diesel engines.

l think the J stands for ''Jet'' - the newer versions of the system with multiple injections per combustion event are referred to as ''multijet''. The td is simply turbo diesel.

TD stands for Turbo Diesel while the J stands for the Italian manufactures new technology that is there to make the engine consum lower and lower and to minimize pollution.
