I've searched for the new uno , but to no avail. Its launch date is 2009 & it will be based on a modified grande punto platform. It wil be the replacement for the palio,although unlike the palio it will be available in western europe,slotting in between the panda & grande punto. Prices r likely to start at around £7500/10,500 euro/$13,000 in europe. In south america it should be cheaper as it will be made in brazil & will be more of a budget car. Sergio marchionne (fiat is ceo) has gone on record saying that the uno will major on style. Expect the uno to use the all new range of fiat t-jet petrols & m-jet diesels. The revolutionary 75 bhp 0.9 turbo petrol will almost definately feature offering 70 mpg plus potential. In europe it will only be available in 3dr hatchback format,but in South america & asia it will come in 5dr, saloon,pick-up & estate versions.The uno should be a pratical hard wearing car as it is engineered to cope with the unforgiving roads of Brazil. It is closest rivals? I'd say the Renault Clio campus,VW fox & Citroen C2.
