l was told if l keep using my master key the car will break and l will need to have it reprogrammed with a new key?? l have lost my other key so is this really going to happen as it will cost a bomb?!!!

Absolute rubbish, but get a second key cut anyway in case the master key gets lost or breaks.

The risk is that you might lose the master key as well. Then you would have to pay for a new set of keys and the immobiliser module in the car. Provided you have the master it is much cheaper to get a new key programmed for everyday use, so do it sooner.

every time you use the master key the ecu goes into key program mode. conceivably this could cause it to go mental eventually, but it probably wont. you should get a second one anyway, its easy to program it.

seen this happen many times with fiats, eventually your red key will stop working and you will need reprogramme.

why dont you just get a new key cut? you have the expensive bit (red key)

l can not see it doing any harm.

The red key is used to save the blue key transponder chips to the ECU, using the red key tells the ECU that a new blue key will be added.other than that it is no different to using a blue key.

It would be a good idea to get a blue transponder key sorted out so u can stop using the red key & put it somewhere safely as losing the red key effectively means a new ecu, & lockset at a minimum. The other option would be to do away with the immobiliser all together by chipping the ECU with the Mckritch chip {not sure that'd spelt correctly).more info on that can be found on fiatforum.
