l have a 1999 60 s team model fiat punto. l have looked at other of the same models on the internet saying no power steering. Today when l went the shops, because l have no power steering, it is heavy to turn the wheel as l take off. But as l turned the wheel it was spinning like it did have power steering. While l was driving it lasted for about 5mins and then stopped. When l got home and read the mannual l opened the bonnet and found a label with a power steering icon on it. Anybody know abou this? Or could it be a problem with my car :S
The fluid is full, ive checked my mannual and where it says power steering there is a bottle on the same place as the diagram. But l can not find the brake fluid, am no good with cars, but l know the fluid is full.

Time to visit your favorite mechanic before you get into an accident.

Is there any fluid in the reservoir under the bonnet.Check where the icon is and see if there is a marker and if there is any fluid.

Your car is low on power steering fluid. l never heard of a late 90 is car having no power steering.Open the hood and find the belts and look for the pump.It maybe in a hidden spot.

if you cant see any thing
go to nearest punto dealership they will tell you
if not take it to a mecanic and they should show it you for free

you do have power steering, but because its a punto it doesnt work! the unit is electrical, not hydraulic. its not servicible though so if its on the blink it needs replacing. wait till the weather warms up, sometimes they just conk out in the winter(mine does anyway) and start up again in the summer.
