hi l have a fiat punto W reg year 2000
i have just changed battery overas car not been used for 6 months , dashboard lights up but l get a key code light that stays on and l can not start the engine , anyone any ideas whats causing this im pretty new and a women driver lol

That happened to me on a 03 model and l had to have my two new keys recoded at a cost of £140.00 This has to be done by a Fiat dealership. Hope this does not apply to yours

The code will need to be reset by a Fiat dealer, phone your local one, they may be able to send someone out, rather than you towing the car in, as l am pretty sure it is a ''plug in a laptop'' job.
