l own a second hand palio deisel car, recently l have done the engine overhauling, my car is not giving the mileage, my mechanic tries many way, he services the airfilter sensor, and saying the problem in this only, one another mechanic is saying you change the entire airfilter assembly, and he is saying your car engine needs overhauling because its blow off problem and consumes engine oil, but l have done this thing 1100 kms past only and that guy who overhaul the engine is saying this will be ok after some kms run you need to change the engine oil,
Kindly any one tell what to do with this condition to solve the mileage problem and engine oil absorbtion,

air filter or the oil filter kindly specify what needs to be done as it is a electronic injection engine
My car has run 66000 kms and it is 2005 june model,

there right it could be the air filter, if the cars old enough to use a carburator it could need cleaned and you might possibly need a new oil filter. I'd suggest getting a new tune up.

Hiya..
OK , first off , this car is only a few years old , it should not be needing a significant engine repair.
Diesel engines usually will run to 400 or 500 thousand kilometres on an engine.
My last diesel car had 160,000kms when l sold it & the engine was like new.
So first u would be wanting to understand why did the old engine fail , & if u got this old engine fixed , did they find the problem , & did that problem cause other problems that have not yet been found.
For example , if the old engine run out of water , overheated & seized up , it may have warped the block or head , which if ur not looking for it , a engine re-conditioner might not notice.
If the block is warped , that engine may never produce good power , good economy or be reliable ever again.
l am not saying this is the case, , but something definitely sounds fishy here.
At 1100kms after ur engine rebuild , oil consumption should be non existent by now.
Usually within the first 100kms it should be running pretty well as good as it ever will.
l would say , that the rebuild that u got was bad, it is using too much oil , has excessive blow by & this is affecting ur fuel economy.
Sounds to me like ur adventure is just beginning.
