are fiats good cars

Over 5 years old - NO! More recently they have improved immensely.

new ones are better, ive know people who have owned fiats with electric windows that drop off thier rails without warning

For the first couple of years they are OK and then their reliability goes downhill.

they aint too bad, im not a lover of them but have had a cinquecento for a few months and found it to be ok and reliable, plus l dont really go out to that many as breakdowns

Not The 'Best Buy'..!!

I've never owned one but I've rented a few over the years, when they're new no problem but they do not stand the test of time, they get shabby easily and the older they get the more unreliable become, it is not a car that l would buy second hand.

l used to be an Alfa Romeo mechanic ( well someone had to do it!) but have worked on fiats also. In the early days Italian cars had a reputation for breaking down and poor bodywork (rusting). However they have improved on the past and have some classy looking cars. Personally l would never buy a fiat, but then l drive a BMW 330 C l Coupe SE...you will never go back! :-)

they have problems after problems. never buy a fiat. it will be your biggest regret
