hi can any one start a fiat punto without key as l have lost mine
the car is a p reg and fiat want £500 to replace it they said the key has a built in code

fiat are right, it is a transponder key with a chip in it, this signal is passed to a receiver ring inside the steering wheel column, then on to your ecu, all three need to be matched or the car wo not start.

Nope. The key has a transponder chip in it and it is unique to your car.
